gsr head with itr valvetrain
hell guys,
need some help rebuilding my gsr head. im planning on putting itr setup on it but want to use as much of the stock gsr parts as possible. i was told i could move the valves and dual valve springs from the intake side and move them to the exhaust side of the head. then im planning on buying new itr valves and valve springs for the intake side. would it run any better if i get itr for the exhaust side too or will it be the same with the stock gsr ones. anyones help is greatly appreciated. thanks

The exhaust side is the weaker side as springs go. I've heard the same thing about putting the dual coil on the ex side, but haven't heard of the results. They should fit right in though. I don't think you necessarily have to get new ITR's for the ex. Are you going to ITR cams and ECU? If so, that would place you at the 8400 rpm level, which those springs (your old dual coil on the ex side) can easily handle.
I have Itr valvetrain in my gsr head. I know that the gsr intake springs are the same as the ITR exhaust springs. Not positive but i belive the gsr exhaust and ITR exhause valves are the same. Do a search.
When I got my head done I just had all new valve springs put in it because i didnt want old worn springs going back in my $$$ head. Dont forget to at least get a 3 angle valve job so the ITR valves will seal properly.
