I am having a tough time finding aftermarket valvetrain for my d16y7. Most manufacturers make it for the y8/z6 as they are the vtec heads. As I look into my helms, I see that valve spring free length on a d16y7 is 57.9(2.28) on both the intake and exhaust sides, and the y8 is 58.0(2.28) on the intake side and 58.7(2.31) on the exhaust side. With a good valve adjustment could you get the ones made for a y8 to work in the y7 head? Or if anyone knows of a place that makes valves/springs/retainers for a y7 it would be greatly appreciated.
