Default Am I crazy? (97 vs 95 VTEC)

I have been around here for a long time, just don't post often, here's the deal:

I currently have a 1997 Honda Prelude (Red, 5spd, 68K miles) and have had for a year, I love the car but I am always looking for something different. Well I ran across a 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC, black, black leather, 71K miles for $7000, I know this is a good deal, but am I crazy to sell mine (for $9500?) and buy this one?

I am seriously considering doing this, but some input or opinions are always apreciated. Thanks in advance

Something to think about.

You know what's funny. I don't think I would trade my 92 Si (almost VTEC) for a 5th gen. I don't know what it is...but i love EVERYTHING about this car.

5th gens are cool....but I get more excited when I see a 4th Gen.

Low mileage, rare VTEC 4th Gen sounds VERY nice!!

I'd do it, but all the 5th gen ****** will tell you not too. It's mostly personal preference I guess, but that is a truly rare find with the mileage being that low.

OBD1, rare, arguably faster, awesome mileage and you make 2500 off the deal.

why are you asking? Get the 4th gen.

thats exactly what i did. got into an accident and got almost 20k for my 99 prelude two years ago. then i got a 95 vtec for 7k and i dont miss the 5th gen at all.

so i say go for the 4th if you like it, because you probably losing money anyways cus i know you spent more on the 5th gen

I actually got the 5th gen from the original owner (commuter car, just 58K miles) for $7750, so I would actually be making money on it after a year, apreciation......?

Default 4th gens rule

4th gen. in 1/10th of a heartbeat. actually, it wouldn't even be a question.

i've never met a 4th gen owner who said, "man, i wish i had a 5th gen"

let alone its hard to find a 4th gen with VTEC... to find one with that low of miles.... i'd take it..... and if u were able to sell ur 5th gen... you'll have extra play money to spend on the 4th gen....

but i bet its already sold tho.... they get scooped up pretty fast when one is on sale...... so if you come across one like that.... you better have the cash.... cuz u usually don't see that kinda prelude being sold all the time...

but if u have the chance to get one... get it... imo....

but u can always get a 4th gen Si and drop a JDM H22A with LSD .... lol....

Get it, VTEC 4th gens are getting rarer, plus the money and the fact the 4G is an awesome car to drive!

I say go for the fourth gen. But thats of course because of what you payed for the 5th gen. Normally a person would be upside down on that trade.
