Axxis Ultimate Break in Procedure
Hey guys, I've been searching around but can't seem to find the exact bedding in procedure for the Axxis Ultimate pads.
I'm about to install some and want to be sure on the bedding in process.
Thanks in advance

all bedding processes are the same.
one thing i've learned is that you'll realize you're not as agressive in the bed-in process as you think you are until you experience someone do it properly.

Your going to love them for everyday use and the occasional track event
As for breaking them in... I dunno I just slammed the brake a few times from 60-70 and they were fine since then (over a year ago)

Yup, that's the basic procedure.
If done properly, you should be able to smell the pads, and they should noticeably fade.

Heh...I did the break-in procedure that came with my spec VR pads from Cobalt and saw sparks shootin out. Was a fun experience.
That link sounded just like the procedure I performed.

How do these pads compare to the axxis ultimates for street and occasional track usage?

The carbo-link above is very similar to the process I used (from CobaltFriction).
They're nice pads...Personally, I could now use something a little more aggressive I think....but they are a great upgrade.

The GT-Sport pads were good, but I used them for daily driven. They made excessive brake dust ( I had white jdm rims and they were black withing 2 days) and they only lasted 4 months.
I may just use these for track events only. Not really good for daily use.

Thanks everyone, I've been outside work'in on it and emailed Andie at 5:30 before I went outside not really expecting a reply until tomorrow.
He mailed me back within 16 minutes!
Cobalt Friction ROCKS!

The Ultimates squeal a little but I can barely notice it (people outside the car do, but hey, they're *speed brakes*
)
As for the dusting, my Ultimates dust a lot too. Like I wash the car and pull it into the garage (12ft), and have to wipe down the front wheels again
...I also run fairly open wheels, and removed the rotor shields.
As always, if you really want to stop, lay into the brakes. I forget this sometimes...(but love my MC Brace just for the feeling)

Heh, those pads are definately NOT street pads. They are my dedicated track pads...take about 3 full laps to reach operating temps. Street I'm running OE at this moment, I am still waiting on the GT-Plus.

I was not running the Ultimates on the front. I was using Cobalt Frictions GT-Sport brake pads. It was kind of funny. When me and a diesel would stop at the same time my brakes would be louder then his. I would stop next to a car that had thier windows down and watch as they cringe from the loud piercing noise my brakes made.
With the loud noise, and excessive brake dust made from the Cobalt Friction GT-Sport brake pads it made it kind of a pain in the *** but the stoping powering alone made me ignore the bad.

Hmm... I'm having second thoughts now about my Axxis Ultimate purchase. I was told they're not dusty or noisy, but the majority of the ppl running them are saying otherwise.
Are you sure the noise you're hearing is from the pads themselves, and not the static vibration from lack of anti-squeak compound?

Well, they do dust a bit, but I have had many sets on multiple cars ans have yet to hear a sound from them. The Ultimates made a huge difference in braking performance when I switched to them for my TypeS, while the R was a milder improvement over stock. Either way, they are worth the little extra dust.
yeah im trying out the ultimates and they DUST like a ****, breaking is good, the initial cold bite aint the greatest, but once heated up a bit they def clamp. im trying to get flat black wheels so i stop caring about all the dust, poor spoon calipers
