H22 block fs questions(threw a rod)
i bought an h22a not long ago and found out that it threw a rod. i was told that the engine was "ceized" but i guess the seller didn't know because he had bought the car with the engine not working. anyways i paid 500 for the whole thing without tranny alt ps ac. i'm kinda tight on cash right now but would like to keep it. when it threw the rod it scored up the cylinder wall pretty bad and it HAS to be sleeved before anything is done with it. if i were to sell it how much should i expect? should i keep it because i won't find anything else for cheap?
you wouldn't be able to sell it for much...the only thing i could see you doing is going back to the seller and asking for your money back b/c he sold you a bad block...but to be honest, something like that isn't worth more than about $100 to $150...
ouch haha. the seller was a really cool guy i don't think any of it was his fault at all or that he knew. i'll probly sell it haha cause money is needed

not really sure. i'm waiting to see if somebody wants to buy for like 250. i still don't think i want to sell it though. it'd be better in the long run if i saved it so that i can get it sleeved because otherwise i'll have to buy another block for more money.
it needs to be sleeved because it threw a rod and as a result scored the cylinder wall pretty bad. sleeving is the only solution but i wanted to do it anyway so that i could run forged internals and boost the **** out of it. i have a 92 accord but it's not going in there cause the accord is for sale. i want to put it into a del sol or prelude. i think the boosted del dol would be a lot more fun though
and the cost of sleeving is around $1250 i think if you get golden eagle to do it or another reputable company like that. but i found sleeves from exospeed for like $250 and was planning to have a local shop do it because they have experience and i know the guy who was going to do it personally
How bad is the cylinder wall scored? And has it ever been bored out? If it's not scored too bad, just go like .25-.30 over on a bore and call up JE for some high compression pistons. Or sell it to me for like $150 and I'll do it. Want to put in a CRX.
can't just bore it because it got scored a lil too deep. the only solution is sleeving. h22 in a crx? that's what i wanted to do when i first got it haha. looked like too much work though
