PIR April 9-10: Grand Am Cup Series and Rolex Sport Car Series
PIR April 9-10: Grand Am Cup Series and Rolex Sport Car Series Food City 250
"High performance road course racing is what this event is all about. The races occur in the evening, under the lights, making the action that much more spectacular! The 2003 race was marked by the best road race ever at PIR. The series returns with an even better field of Daytona Prototype machinery. The same cars and drivers that compete in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona will compete in 250 miles of twisting, turning road racing action. Chevrolet, Porsche, Ferrari, Ford, Saleen, BMW, Mosler and Toyota are the featured power plants that will be attacking the track.
A ticket to this event not only gets you a seat, but access to the garage and paddock areas allowing the chance to see these unique machines up close and personal before they race under the lights. It's the next best thing to being in the drivers seat, so get your tickets now! "
Tickets are $10 for Friday night and $29 for Saturday night

I don't think so, the PIR's site and the flyer I have at home both say that it's only Friday and Saturday night.

So was Paul B. able to get things squared away and enter? He said something before about not having a regulation fuel rig. I wish I could come out for it, but I'll be in Vegas this weekend.

I don't think so. I know he was hanging on to the Motons in HC in anticipation of the Grand Am Cup race, but those were off the car for the March event so I just assumed he wasn't planning to run this weekend. Paul, any luck?

Hi guys,
I am not going to be racing the GAC at PIR this year... BUMMER
Mike and I thought it would be a great experience but the fuel rig was the last straw...unfortunately we couldn't find one to borrow or rent : O
I did have a fantastic offer from a Rolex team to have one of their championship winning drivers co-drive but I decided "this year" in favor of banking the money. I can run a entire season locally for the money spent on one weekend. I digress : )
I sold the Motons this morning to a Canadian Team will be racing a GS BMW this weekend.
We do have a couple of fellow AZ-NASA racers in the GAC ST race.
Jason B. and Mario...
Jason B. raced his BMW at the last NASA-Az event Sun at PIR....
Also since the BMW club is the support race-- most of the BMW/Mini guys that race with NASA-Az will be racing in the support race.
Ralph Evans the head of ASRA will also be racing in the support race, he asked me to invite you all to come out to PIR for the April 23-25th ASRA Championship race #1 in a couple of weeks. Check the website...Arizona Sports Racing Association...www.????????
We might be able to get our own small bore race group...additionally ASRA has a very good DE program.
See you guys at PIR Fri/Sat. or April 24/25th
Regards,
Paul

After looking at the todays practice times. I would think the fastest teams will be running low 9's in ST this year. My car in stock form as delivered-- even though--oversprung for my taste ran high 10's and 11's at PIR on Toyo's. Which puts us off the pace by a second or so anyway........
My take ......
Work harder....Make more money....Do More laps...... : )
