Parked my car in my apt complex around 6:45p, while it was still sunlight outside. Came back out around 10:30p to go to a friend's house, disengaged my alarm as I was walking up to it, and noticed that it had been tampered with (several beep from alarm). Luckily all they took was the radio and not the rest of my audio equipment let alone the whole car. None of the wires were cut at all; everything was unplugged like a clean uninstall. 4 other cars were also reported broken into all within the same time frame.

side note: The apt complex is garaged but the gate for the garage has been temporarily off for about 4 days now, allowing anyone to come in and snoop around whenever they please. There is 24 hr security in the lot also. Should I bring this up with the manager of the apt complex? What's he/she most likely going to tell me? I just figured that with the gate down, they would've had stepped up the security in the general gated area but apparently not...

 

Sorry for your headaches that you gotta go through now to put everything back together. Sometimes that's the worst part.

Damn, some inexperienced thieves there. Why did they have to break the window? I guess they weren't "Honda thieves", probably just some kids who wanted a nice headunit.

 

newbie theives! sorry to see that..........my windows were shattered out a long time ago for no reason.........then recently, they broke in by sliding a hanger along the window to hit the automatic unlock button.......then they jacked my system, just like what they did to you......

 

very familiar site...unfortunately...seems like its always the passenger side window that they like to break

Pain in the *** it is. Now I have to search for an estimate to replace the window. Under what conditions would insurance replace the stereo? I still have the original box and possibly the receipt somewhere. I know for sure that I'm on record for purchasing/installing the stereo at Best Buy.

passenger side window is usually the hidden side or side not on the actual street. Also, don't have to deal with steering wheel getting in the way if all they wanted was the stereo.
My condolances..........hate that feeling of walking up to my ride and knowing something ain't right..............just to find out my feelings are right. At least they didn't cut the wires, and only took a radio and broke the glass...........little comfort right now though will feel better down the road.

God damn thieves, they keep doing this, we gotta come up with some sort of defense. This is getting way outta control.

 

We have lots of those kinds of thieves all over my area. They aren't interested in the car, just the stereo and the most advanced way they can think of getting to it is smashing the window. When I was at work some dirt bag highschoolers tried smashing my window (left 2 big marks on the window) in the middle of the day. A bunch of people ran over and scared them away and got the plates. When I turned it into the cops they didn't get ****, only something on their record I think. Makes me sick

 

Be thankful that you have your car still at least.

 

I think I'm getting to the point if I find a thief....I'll just chop one of their hands off and cauterize it for them with an iron or maybe the exhaust manifold...wouldnt want attempted murder charges now...

I didn't notice until now, but there's fingerprints right above the door sill in the second picture. Not like police would do anything.

Good thing they just stole your deck and not your car. The left passenger window can be replaced for around 130. Looks like they broke the window with a spark plug. Sorry about your lost? Did this happen in So Cal or Nor Cal?

Well, if you REALLY wanna save money, you can try finding someone selling a used window and just install it yourself. Taking it to a shop or something is just asking to get butt fucked.
