does it resemble brake fluid ? (which is an oily substance)

If so, it could be a blown shock, a brake fluid leak, or oil that is actually leaking from under the engine bay somewhere, and while you are driving it is running to the rear of the vehicle.

Everything he said

You can't just expect us to know what it is... You're going to have to jack up the car and find out exactly where it is coming from. If it isn't a severe drip then you may not even notice mechanically... As far as engine oil... Probably not...

it could possibly be the shocks.. because mine are dead.. but i've been losing engine oil somewhere and i dont know where it is all going. i just did an oil change like 2 months ago and i checked the oil yesterday and it was almost done. i've started noticing these drips and was wondering wehre all this engine oil has gone.

Then yeah, if you're not burning oil (bluish smoke from the exhaust), then you are dripping oil... You said it was near the rear wheels first...

If it is dripping from the oil pan, get UNDER THERE, and find out where from. Probably either the oil filter or oil pan gasket...

It's engine oil... He said it was coming from the oil pan... Just keep throwing in oil... It will be fine as long as you keep the oil level up... If not then you can do a lot of unnecissary wear and tear...
