00-03 vs 04 side by side
Just wondering if anyone else has raced a 00-03 vs a 04 side by side? I just purchased a MY00 today and ran into an 04 while taking my brother for a spin. We talked for a bit then did a few first gear rolls each time I would pull about a fender on him then stay dead even to the top of third. 04 had no passenger. Anyone else have any experiences with 04s? I may have a factory freak on my hands. Just want to see if anybody else has had the same results.

They arent much faster especially from a roll, I believe they have slightly more torque but probably not very noticable. The outcome probably depended more on driver skill.
Bro, you're splittin' hairs. The gains are mininmal/nominal at best.
It's going to be all pretty damn close. Too close to call one faster than the other which is what matters, right?

well for me, my friend has a 03 s2k and i have driven it a couple months ago. i just bought a 04 s2k a week ago and i can tell there is better mid range torque. i dont know about high end yet because i havent opened her up yet (break in process). ive read other threads where pre 04's have raced their friends w/ 04's and they couldnt hang. not sure. trying not to be bias here.
dyno tests have proven there is more power (not a lot lot) on the 04's than the previous years. ive seen dyno slips of 5-10 more hp and about 5-10 more lbs or torque. so if you consider that minimal then it is. i personally think thats a good improvement.
