Decided on INGALLS Camber Kit for CRX...need help from here
http://www.ingallseng.com/cars/honda.html
Ok they definetely have one of the worst sites I've seen to start with. But I'm no suspension wizz either. My rex has been dropped (not slammed) 1.5" or so, maybe 2" at most. Koni yellow shocks and ground control springs.
It worries me that they have camber kits for 88-92 crx's...last i checked they stopeed at 91...but basically when i read the list of things they have available i have no idea what it all means and i need some technical advice.
Which of these do i need? I just want to correct the awful wear on my tires.
Front
Adjustable Mounts - Rubber Bushings
0" to 1.5" Adjustable Ball Joint
Adjustable Mounts - Polyurethane Bushings
Adjustable Mounts - Rubber Bushings
1.5" to 3" Adjustable Ball Joint
Adjustable Mounts - Polyurethane Bushings
I will only need a front set as i will do the old washer trick in the rear. I have heard in the crx's if your drop is over 2" you will have to trim down some of the wall...luckily i am not under 2".

I suggest Specialty Products http://www.specprod.com/
If you're only dropped about 1.5", then the normal kit will probably suffice. IIRC, it has an adjustment range of -.75 degrees to +1.5 degrees. That means that when it's on your car, you can move another -.75 degrees or add another 1.5 degrees of positive camber. ie, if your car is at -1.5 degrees camber the kit can correct the camber enough to 0 degrees.

Hmm....ran threw the the apps/product listing for the crx-89-91, don't think that's what i'm looking for.
Looks like i might go with the
1990 Crx Front - 1.5" to 3" - Adjustable Ball Joint +1-1/2° to 3" 35591 (kit #)
From Ingalls
Any comments?

I'm sorry dude, but you're gonna get laughed at HARD for that one!!!
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly
and back to your original question... what's your toe set at? with proper toe settings you shouldn't have much (if any) uneven tire wear with that kind of drop.

Toe? Like i said, not much of a whiz with the suspension stuff. I haven't changed it any...

IF you use the balljoints-make sure that you have clearance at the top of the tower for the stud or adjusting device. We are using the SPC anchor bolts and the only trimming required was to the area of the wheelwell where the front edge of the control arm made contact. The fix is actually quite simple using a Dremel or similar cutoff wheel and a hammer to fold the seam out of the way.
Both SPC and Ingalls can supply you based on the printout from the alignment shop. It is very important to have that done to set the TOE correctly anyway. Major suspension work generally causes a real change in TOE along with Camber. I buy my parts thru Ultra Performance and they are very knowledgeable. You can also call either Ingalls or SPC and talk to their tech staffs. Keep in mind what the mechanical difference in the 2 brands is. Also note that the Ingalls parts are NOT legal for SCCA Improved Touring since the way they work is on a slider rather than an eccentric bushing. Now to bushing material-it is your choice between rubber and poly in these pieces. We used the rubber on the Prelude rear (Ingalls) but have the SPC with hard plastic on the front of the CRX. If you use poly or similar be prepared for the usual squeaking that goes with that material.
Good luck

dood if you dont know what your getting into then do some more research, learn about what you wanna do and find out about the other company's that make camber kits...good luck
If you only dropped your CRX about 1.5 inches, you should not need a camber kit. The negative camber you have with that drop will cause a slight increase in tire wear, but should not be significant. I would suspect bad toe alignment. Did you take the car to a good alignment shop after you lowered it? If you didn't, this is probably your issue. When you lower a car with a double wishbone, your toe in increases which will increase tire wear significantly.
