My friend bought and installed a used tanabe full coilover from a guy who owned 99 lude (so I guess the tanabe suspension is for Gen 5 lude). It works perfectly fine. So is this mean Gen 5 and 4 suspensions are the same? So I can buy a Gen 5 coilover suspension for a Gen 4 lude?

 

Yes. The 4th and 5th gen Preludes have interchangable shocks and springs. So a coilover system for a 5th gen should fit your 4th gen. The one slight difference is that the 4th gen Prelude shocks have a small bracket on them that holds the brake line while the 5th gen shocks do not. However, this should be simple to work-around.
