The goodies mister UPS man brought today.....
Porter Cable Random Orbit sander/buffer
Porter Cable Velcro backing plate and counterweight
Various levels of pads
Now with my Mequiars Swirl Free Polish #82, Vanilla Moose, and S100 I can make the SI very pretty for the summer. Actually going to start this weekend on my wife's VW Golf. It's black and needs some polishing love before it gets the for sale sign.

My gf recently bought me the same kit but I bought Lake Country Pads.
Did you order from here?

Great price btw.
p.s. I have the same backing pad but I heard that one falls apart on a lot of people on Autopia (also Bunmango had the same problems) so I bought a different one from here http://www.properautocare.com/velbacplatfo.html

Yeah, I got in on the Coast Tool special. No one could come close to their price let alone include the 6" velcro backing plate and weight. I will definatly do before and after pics when I do it.
I was going to order the Lake Country pads but the Mequiars pads were cheaper to just go pick up and are supposed to be just about as good.

Nice. I get rags from work by the box so I just use those. I have a bag full of just Micro Fiber rags for things like wax removal. I heard that package you got comes with a lot of consumer products from Mequiars (maroon bottles). I have found that buying the proffessional level stuff (tan bottle) from the auto paint store is cheaper and works 10 times better.

With the weather nice you can drop the Denalli off any time but since it is so big I might need it for a week or so make sure and get it done correctly.
Actually, once I do my wife's car and mine to make sure I got the technique and such down I am probably going to be willing to do friends cars and such fairly cheap to help justify paying that much for a polisher so I'll keep ya in mind.

And you realize in that week I will have to use it as a daily driver to make sure the shine can stand up to the elements....
It might even have to be tested downtown and such in the middle of the night.

It's hard to burn your paint with a porter. It's not a rotary.
Just remember, start with the lightest product/pad/pressure and work your way up if needed.

Yeah, but the car has only been washed like 5 times in the last year so I want to do what I can to make it presentable to sell it.
