yeah.. it's the same weekend as moroso. Unfortunetly I have school on saturdays, so there is no way I can make moroso.. but.. I might be able to make the trek over to LA with the same guys from houston that went to shreveport. I am still thinking about it. John aka nurv99 will definately be there w/ his teg and mike @overkill(silver coupe) will be there as well.

To all the racers coming in from out of town Sat night...

A lot of us are going to club Element in Baton Rouge the night before. If anyone's interested in drinking with the competition before race day, here's Elements' site...

I know there will be a bunch of cars from houston going up there to own the event again. We won't be in attendance though....

very low turnout as far as racers were concerned, none of the heads up classes had enough for full payout. I ran quick 8 fwd and quick 8 street. I won the first in quick 8 fwd and second in street class, single turbo nitrous powered supra took me out like a bitch

/\ one reason the Heads Up turnout was so low. You're talking about Loc's engagement party, right? He and his crew represent most of the fast Hondas in Louisiana. Too bad the race was on the same day :-( The drag racing was weak, but the road course made up for it IMO. Everyone especially liked the 350Z vs NSX vs Porsche race. I'll post pics soon...

Drag Race results...

FWD Quick 8 Winner: Alex Jimenez - Houston, TX - 1992 Honda Civic - 11.173 @ 134.69 mph
Runner Up: John Gianukos - Pasadena, TX - 1997 Acura Integra - 12.623 @ 124.38 mph

Street Class Quick 8 Winner: Ronnie D’Armond - Denham Springs, LA - 1994 Supra - 11.894 @ 121.80 mph
Runner Up: Alex Jimenez - Houston, TX - 1992 Honda Civic - 12.362 @ 130.43 mph

15.00 and Slower Bracket Winner: Bradley Bergeron - Gibson, LA - 15.91 @ 70.51 mph

14.99 and Faster Bracket Winner: Tuan Tran - New Orleans, LA - 14.52 @ 89.85 mph

Motorcycle 9.00 and Slower Bracket Winner: Jason Landry - Pierre Part, LA - 9.733 @ 138.91 mph

Although the turnout was very low, I still had a good time. I tried to take advantage of the low turnout and entered in the street class as well. I was hotlapping from street to quick8 w/o changing tires (except in the final round against john). I was rather disappointed to see the supra come into the picture on the 3rd qualifying round and run a 12.1 but thats racing. My best this weekend on 225x50x15 drag radials was a 12.22. However my previous best on 205 was a 12.01. It's been 2 years since I ran down the track on anything other than slicks.. intresting to say the least. I found that no way no how can my dr handle 24 psi unless at the very top of 3rd or 4th. NO consistancy what so ever. Ronnie the supra guy was a cool cat and a pleasure to chat with. He put his drag radials on in the final and up the boost to 21 and the nx shot to a 75.
