Stuff to prep car with?
I searched and could not get a definit (sp) answer.
How much sand paper do I need to sand my 99 civic coupe and how much tissue paper do I need to keep it clean before the paint goes on.
Also I need to get rid of a tiny rust, what material can I use for it. And could you guys name products by the names so i can go pick it up at the local auto stores. I getting ready to repaint in one week.
Anything else would be appreciated, and please name the products. thnx

sorry to bust in on your thread, but i had a question too: what grit paper do i need to use to wet sand my car (i just had it painted 3 weeks ago, and it's a 95 gsr). i wanna get all the orange peel out and as smooth as possible. thanks.
It all depends on how bad of shape the car is. You can start with 180 wet and work you way up to about 600 wet, then seal and shoot. I'm sure you could cut a few corners and some people just hit it with some 180 then 400 and then seal and spray, but it's up to you.
As for rust, it depends on how mad it is. If it's just surface rust, you can sand it out and then use some puddy to patch the low spot. Anything past that, I'd suggest taking it to somebody who knows what they are doing.
