90 civic Dinan ECU - ?'s
YO.
Going through a box of old civic parts, I found a ECU for a 90 SI with a large "Dinan" sticker on it. I called Dinan (known for tuning BMWs) and they said they did deal in Hondas at one point, but all the Honda/Acura rights have been sold to a company called Pure Performance. I cannot find contact info anywhere for these guys, and I'd like to get some specs on this ECU so I can sell it.
The only useful info I received, was the price for this ECU which was around 400-500 bucks.
SOOOOO, does anyone know anything about this ECU? Also, it's for sale, as I've sold the civic (with a 89 teg ECU to match the ZC motor swap) and bought another Integra.
THANKS!

I actually work for Dinan and will find out for you. I believe the company that we sold the rights to the chips went under but I may be wrong. I'll have to ask Steve Dinan. He was in Phoenix this last weekend for the Rolex Sports Car Series race so it may be a couple of days until I can get a hold of him. Our team came in third and the officiating body may ask to tear down the engine to check for bent rules and he will want to watch them do it. I am actually the guy that burns all of Dinans chips but I have been out for spinal surgery for the last 10 weeks. You probably got one of our salesman. I don't drive a BMW, I have a 2002 Civic Si so I like checking out this board. I just changed my screenname.

OK, I talked to Steve Dinan about it. He sold the rights to the company along with all the exchange ECU's we had. The company went out of business 2 months later but they still own the rights to the software but they owner of the company is nowhere to be found. It's too bad because a lot of the chips files are still very sellable.
What kind of info do you need? I need any numbers and as much detailed info from you as possible about the ECU. Steve said he would be more than happy to answer any questions because he was quite proud of the Honda product line (we did all the tuning for Honda's factory race teams, he says Honda is his favorite Japanese manufacturer) but BMW thought it was a conflict of interest and coaxed Steve into selling it.
Thanks,
Scott Tucker

Here's what the label on the ECU says:
Copyright (C) 1994-1995
DINAN ENGINEERING
PERFORMACE CHIP
D930-101A
The marking on the ECU case is:
37820-PM6-A09
620-314280MK
Any of you Civic guys want to buy this thing off of me? It came out of a 90 Civic SI when we dropped the ZC in and switched to a 89 Integra ECU.

Interesting, the only "performance" .bin file for a 90-91 PR4 ecu (90-91 Teg non-vtec) outside of my own hacking, was posted and labled as a "Dinan" performance .bin. Always wondered if it was real, still do.

Well, the ECU in my hands is real enough. From what I hear it was pretty expensive, too.

Didn't mean to imply that it wasn't, AutoEng2002Si just confirmed that Dinan did in fact have a deal improving Honda ecu's for performance. I'm just a little skeptical about a lot of things I see on the internet, checkout ebay sometime, lol.

i got my ecu with a DInan chip as well. the number on the dinan sticker is D935-271A.. i just got my swap (b18b) and i got it from Hmotorsonline and steve gave me this chipped ECU so i was wondering what this chip does
I know this is a super old thread, but I just picked up an obd1 p75 ecu and it is dinan chipped. I was wondering if it is real also because I checked out dinan's website and it only deals in bmw. I guess its just an old chip... I feel kinda lucky to have it, lol.
Have come across another DINAN chipped ECU, # is 37820-PR4-A11(490-131458) & supposed to be from (or rather, was used in a 92 Acura Integra) - hoping to find out if this might be in any way compatible once put into a 91 CRX Si (OBDO to OBD1 swap necessary?) Any info whatsoever would help, this fellow wants $120 for it - worthwhile, or no? Sounds very interesting -
