what is the best way to repair a dash with rips in the vinyl WITHOUT having to remove the vin plate, how would you rewrap it keeping the vin visible

The rivets holding the VIN plate on can be drilled out. Take it off, rewrap or do whatever. Then use a rivet gun to rivet the VIN back on.

Dunno if it's illegal to take off in the first place, but it 's not like you've got a stolen car right? ........Right? You're car isn't stolen, right?

no it is not stolen, if i had a digicam i would show the rips in the dash to get some credibility from some mods
