Default Bicycle Racks?

I'm about to add a 2001 Honda Prelude to my fleet of vehicles (I own a 1990 RX-7 Turbo and a 1989 RX-7 GXL), and I was wondering if any Prelude owners use bicycle racks to transport their human-powered machines? I know I can get away with taking the front wheel off and folding the seat down, but that only works with one bike, and I often take my road bike and MTB with me on trips. Yes, I plan on using the Prelude as my daily-driver. The RX-7s are too scary to drive for long distances (!).

I was looking at the trunk-mount kit made by Thule, but I've not found any pictures of one used on a Prelude. The Prelude I'm purchasing does have the spoiler, which could make a significant difference. I'm just worried about buying something that will tear up my trunklid, or prove to be unreliable. Yes, I know I could get a hitch welded onto the back, but I really don't like the way that looks, and people assume you use your car for towing RVs if they have a hitch. Eff that.

Does anyone here have any pointers or pics that could help me out?

image isnt really that big, but one of the MDPC members has one on his 4th gen, and he transfers it between that and his EG, it actually looks pretty good on there.

i say go for it

also on his prelude its kinda sleeper, Apexi WS exhaust, and JRSC on a 4th gen VTEC, with stock wheel, and a sublte lowering.

Yakima bike racks are the way to go. Go with the rack on the top. This method is better because you don't risk banging up your bumper area when your tire flops around. Anyway, the top just looks bad *** with a Trek or Klein MB or whatever. I own one. THEY KICK ***!!

Check out their website.

Input your Honda info in and off you go.

Downside: If you are short, then you might have some trouble getting it off the top and so forth.

Hope this gives you some other options!!

"the bone" bike rack will clear a wing as long as it's not too high of a wing. I used to use that one until I bought a truck, and the car became a track beast.

i have a yakima roof rack for my 99' SH. the only complaint i have is that it interferes with the sunroof when i try to open it all the way. i was assured when i purchased it that the roof would clear the bottom of the rack, but it doesn't. otherwise it works well.

when i bought my fourth gen, it had a bike rack that went into a 1 1/2 reciver on the back of the car, like a little draw-tie hitch.
