88 CRX Key Ignition thingy needs replaced??
Ok I bought my 88' Honda CRX SI without the key starter. Basically, the guy who I bought it from said that "Some ***** tried to break into the car and steal it, so they cut off the key ignition).". So right now where you stick the key in, theres wires hanging out. I need to know where I can find a replacement part for this and get new locks (preferably a place online).
Good Luck, its not going to be easy to find a new ignition mech. Maybe a junk yard? It will be tough, if not impossible, to find it with the same key as the doors. You will most likely wind up with 2 keys.
What I would do is completely eliminate it and use a pushbutton starting system. It would be cheaper to flick a switch for power and hold a button to start. Make sure you have a hidden fuel cutoff switch to prevent flight

It shouldn't be all that hard. Even if you get a different used ignition cylinder you can have them rekeyed all to one singe key. What exactly did they break when they tried to steal your car? The cylinder or the ignition switch on the back side of it?
