Default VAFC Harness HELP!!!

Since I cannot seem to get in touch with Kenji, I will go ahead and ask you guys for some help. After installing the harness yesterday, I turn the switch on and no power to the VAFC. I messed around with the harness a little more and still not luck. I reconnected everything like it was before installing the harness and my car would not start. Then I checked the fuse box (Thanks Will for the help) and the FI & EM 15 amp fuse is blown so I replace the fuse and the car starts fine. I get out my meter and begin checking the harness to see if the connections match up with those on the diagram in the Instruction manual and it appears that they all match except for the ground wire. I have included a picture from the instruction manual on wiring the VAFC to the ECU and also indicated where the wires on the harness are connected for ground (red arrow). I have also included pictures of the wiring harness and where the current ground is connected (yellow arrow) and where I think it should be connected (red arrow) based on the instruction manual. I would not be in such a big hurry to get this done but I would like to have it for the run to Deals Gap this weekend.

Hey, bring the harness to the gap and I'll call up kenji and we can just fix it there if you can't get it by then.

Chad! You're my long lost twin! User IDs - same/same... and up until the licence plate - that was my Avatar (with a CW background, of course). I even just moved from NC this past July!

On Topic... please document your troubles with the V-AFC harness adapter since I am looking to go that route myself...

How funny!! It would be even better if your car was 0840 or mine was 0652. I will keep you informed.

lol don't take that comment the wrong way. Since you were trying to fix it there would be no point in calling this weekend if you DID fix it right? Kenji has a lot of **** going on right now, yeah I know, that's not really an excuse but I can see why he's not checking this forum everyday.

No offense intended by anything said in my posts in this thread.

I just wanted to verify if I'm correct in changing the wires.

ITR 01-0840, I've got the same harness from Kenji and was experiencing similar problems. Seemed like it was the V-AFC unit for me though.

Let me know if this fix worked for you, cause I am wondering if maybe my harness is wired incorrectly as well.

I hooked a jumper to the VAFC and it worked fine (atleast the display came on). I will let you know what happens. I think it is just the ground wire but I cannot get anyone to confirm it.

.....I have the harness and it was very easy to install: plug and play.

I could see how you could make a mistake though in wiring it up or something...

I'll be happy to show you how mine is wired up so you can take a look at it... See you at the Gap.

Chad and Chris,

Call me at the number I have given you before. I want to get this problem solved ASAP. If you don't know my number get it from DaveROR.

Or PM me ASAP.

I have been at a business conference for the last 3 days so I have not looked at HTech and my home PC is still sick with a virus.
