215 Azenis on stock 16" wheels
I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one. I also checked a tire size calculator and the difference in width wasn't too drastic, but then again I know Azenis are wider than most tires for what they are rated.
basically I want to put the 215-45-16 Azenis on my stock SH wheels - has anyone done this and had any issues? A few people told me its not ideal but I want to avoid using the 205-55-16 size because of the higher sidewall and lesser width. What are the drawbacks from using the 215-45-16 size if any? TIA

how wide are the stock 5g wheels? what's the stock size tire?
if they're 6.5" wide, 215 is probably the widest you would want to use. and i would try to run the widest tire possible.
btw, the falkens sidewalls are pretty stiff.

i did a fair amount of research prior to selecting my choice in tire brand and size for my stock 5g wheels --- my falken azenis 215/45/16 are coming in on wednesday !!
from what ive learned: the sidewalls are quite stiff, as noted, and they dont grip for shizzle on wet surfaces, so i will need to be quite weary in the reain. also, they are a bit louder than the stock potenza re92's.
as far as the 215's fitting on the stock rim - they will fit without a problem. they will not rub and you will probably not notice a spedometer difference at all.
my 2 cents: if you can get azenis!

My brother has the 215/45/R16 sized Azenis on his stock SH wheels, he is lowered with neuspeed sport springs and doesn't seem to have any rubbing problems at all.
ok great - thanks for the feedback fellas. Im getting a used set of SH wheels from a member here, and I'll run the Azenis just for auto-x. I still have my stock wheels with SO3s on them to use on the street/rain.

I have Azenis on all four sides and I wouldn't say they grab but they're not all that bad on wet surfaces. sometimes people over exaggerate.
