Do you thimk a DOHC ZC can pull a 15 sec 1/4 or better
I have been told that my car (1989 Honda Civic HB W/DOHC ZC) can pull a 14.9 in the 1/4. I have nothing done except for Exhaust, Intake, and Header, nothing special but it is a beast of a car just wanted some opinions on it. Feed back please tell me what u think.

OMG You're so ******* stupid. It pisses me off when idiots like you even post! The reason you beat them is because they suck at driving....
Okay lets see.... B16a vs DOHC ZC.
B16a revs higher and makes more power. Why would it lose? Oh wait it wouldnt. Shut up you suck at life.

Why not might hit low 15s and if done right can hit the 14.9 there is a few on here that hit low 15s on a 125hp at the crank D16z6 with just i/h/e. I am sure you can do it with a ZC as well with a SI tranny.

Why not it depends on the car if its a 99-00 Civic SI then a ZC in a 88-91 civic/crx can be able to take it, its the weight of the car about 400-600 lbs lighter. But ya if its in the same car ya the B16 car should win.

Well duh. That's like saying if you put a b16a in a dodge pickup truck vs. a DOHC ZC in a CRX. We're comparing motors, therefore you need to assume they're on the same platform, and therefore the comment "I beat b16s with the same mods" deserves a "You suck at life" response.

No, it's not like saying that. No, it doesn't imply we're comparing motors, and we don't have to assume anything. He didn't ask which motor is better in his car.
I'm not sure what you'll be able to pull with your mods.

thats the most absurd horse-**** i've ever heard.. they must be quadraplegics driving...
but anyways, i'll give you benefit of the doubt and say your an awesome driver and estimate around a 15.3-15.5... but don't be to dissappointed if the timeslip says 15.7+

Well just go ahead and try it and you get your answer. Why ask different people have different times it also depends on the condition of the engine aswell. Just make sure you have your car at 100% when you go to the track.

if i only had something better than 56k here at home, i'd give you a cookie
btw my stock 5-speed dx would beat 99-00 si's. EM's don't seem much faster than the 96-00 ex sohc vtec. i've driven both, and thats my opinion

You better damn well get better than a 15.5, I've seen d16a6's with i/h/e run 15.6's...What ECU are you running? Get a pg7 or the ZC one...

Geeze. did he hit a soft spot or something? b16's aren't all that great, I've seen some that pull terrible times. You can say all you want about a terrible driver, but there's not much skill involved in shifting. It all depends on the quality of your engine. I'm pretty sure most of those jdm motors have been sitting around for the longest time. Not knocking down on the "mighty" b16 or anything, hell, I've seen dohc zc's run times that a d16a6 could run anyday of the week. Now let's not start this whole b-series vs. d-series thread again...

It is definitely possible with the right combination of bolt ons, tire choice, track conditions, and driver skill. There are a lot of variables but it is definitely possible. b16 powered ed's and ef's may not be the fastest cars out there but they are very fun and quick cars to drive.
