Default Clutch Pedal Adjustment. Safe?

I am looking to adjust my clutch pedal so that it is a bit lower. I really dislike how the clutch engages so high off of the floor. I want to adjust the pedal down a bit so that the engagement point isn't so freaking high anymore relative to my foot.

I've found a few threads that talk about how to do this, but my question is if this is 100% safe for my car or not. I don't want to do anything that might result in extra transmission wear or whatnot.

Thanks.

it is normal for the friction point to be on the upper part.

Yeah, I know it's normal. I just don't like the feel, so I'd like to change it if I can.
