where can i get a tranny swap in so cali?
hey guys i have a 98 honda prelude and i need a new tranny... so i figure i should just get a ss to manual swap... im from torrance near LA... does anyone know of a transmission shop that can do the COMPLETE tranny swap for me?

well i called hmotorsonline.com and they quoted me $750 for a 4th gen prelude tranny with a starter... what do you guys think?

Email me at Anthony360@aol.com. I did this swap a few weeks ago on my 5th gen I paid 700 bucks TOTAL PRICE. All PARTS. pedals, shifter, ecu, jdm 4th gen tranny, intermediate shaft, guages THE works.
My prices i got were luck. If you deside not to do the manual swap, I have a good SS auto sitting here for 300 Take it

called sparksracing and they said they would find out how much it cost and call me back... but they havent called me back yet... sigh~
i went to signal and they quoted me $1800... but they couldnt find it but said they could for $2500
i called prospeed and they quoted me $1900
and sparksracing quoted me $1700 but they said they would call me back and make sure... so im gonna wait a lil for sparksracing and if they dont find it or call me back then i guess ill go off to prospeed...
any other places?

sparksracing.com that place sucks... sorry to say but they quoted me $1700 but they said they would call me back just to make sure with a price... and they never called me back so i called them and now theyre saying its gonna cost like $2700 to $3000...
and the guy on the phone sounded like a jerk...

your own garage, a few crafstman mechanic tools and the almighty helms manual
A couple of days, a couple of friends, about 16 hours total and a few beers after the job.
Total cost for this labor to you: $1450 from importautosalvage.com
just a heads up, my friend and a few others are doing this soon on ours and it is awesome to do this kind of job, it is getting to know the car much more than you already know.
