OEM ITR springs w/ Bilstein SP dampers?
I've done a fair amount of reading in the archives, but havn't found too many specific examples of this. Is anyone running Bilstein dampers with the OEM USDM ITR springs? How do you like them? How long have you had them? Would you recommend them as a replacement for the stock dampers?
My ITR shocks are beat from 75K miles of crappy northeastern potholes
.A buddy of mine is running a Bilstein / H & R combination in his VW and it seems to ride really nice, plus it handles pretty well...
I really like the stock ITR ride height and wheel travel though, and would like to stick with my OEM springs if possible...
I'm also considering Koni Yellows w/ the stock springs, but I don't know if this combination would work well, and I don't know if they are worth the extra $$$...
Oh, I would be using the suspension combination for daily driving, plus some light autocrossing and the occasional HPDE.
Thanks for your help.

i have the bilstein/ stock spring combo. Been running it for a month or so now. No where near the handling of Zeal, but for what it is it works great. I'll probably be sticking w/ the bilsteins for a while

I would say it's just as good, but then again I'm going by what I recall the stock handling/ ride was.

i got a chance to ride bilstein sports on the stock springs back when mikehonda had this setup at one of the hpde's (streets of willow). in comparison with the full oem setup, it was a bit more stiff - liked it a lot. i felt much more confident on the track with his car compared with mine (i have full oem springs and shocks).
i'm contemplating getting these as well - not sure whether to get a full coilover, or do the mild jump with the bilsteins.
kepani-who's gonna bum a test drive from y soon.

May be slightly OT, but i'm running stock springs with Koni yellows and its doing everything I need it to right now. I dont see any point in getting aftermarket springs when they all dump the car too low.
Your setup sounds good

Let us know how you like it when you do. I'm thinking about either just doing bilsteins or bilsteins + GC's.

Not the best quality spring out there but will hold there own; integra rates are 500/400 so plan for higher valving shocks if you are going to use them. Better choice would be ground control if you are looking for an adjustable sleeve coilover. I've been on skunkworks for 5 years now...no problems whatsoever.

I have been driving my car for more than 2 years with Bilstein and stock springs combo. I would recommend this setup to anybody who wants to drive on street without bumping their heads. Firm but comfortable. I like i

I have ridden with William (typer76) on a few occasions. His setup is stiffer than stock - very nice ride quality, and handles beautifully.

i had bilsteins with h&r oe sport springs on my gsr back in the day. i do remember loving the dampners; they are some of best built inexpensive pieces out there.
interesting idea
i do a lot of hpde but i also daily drive the car. the oem dampners have been punished but i don't really want to replace them with stiff race coilovers.
