1998 Integra Type R - 1 / Thieves - 0
Well, it was bound to happen, right? On Friday, my precious Type R was hit by thieves. I even came up on the motherfukker trying to steal her. But, no.
They failed.
I win.
To add insult ot injury, I was in the hospital visiting my mom, who died the next morning. It does put it in perspective, but at times like this... you definately want to have some comfort in all the things that make you happy. And despite the attempted theft... knowing I still have my ITR is a good thing.
All I can say to those of you who fear this happening to you - it will. All you can do is be prepared. My alarm wasn't the latest and greatest, but it did stop the thief from being able to start the car - even after he removed it completely. My advice? Get a good alarm. Get a pager (which will be my replacement system). Get a GPS tracker (ditto). But most of all... remember, it's just a thing. It's a cool thing, but it is just a worldy posession. At this time, I might not have been able to replace my ITR... but it's just a car.
As a matter of fact, all he got away with was the alarm head end and my Valentine1. The coward had my CD case as I came up on him but dropped it as he ran away. Of course, he did bust my steering column cover and ingition switch, etc. I'm sure everyone knows of the myriad of security problems with Honda/Acura designs... at least that prevented too much major damage from "forced" entry.
So, raise a glass with me, Honda-Tech... this is one for the good guys.

Im real sorry to hear about you Mother....losing loved ones is certainly not easy and May God Bless your family during these times of grief. With his strength you will make it through. Glad the R was just wounded and not gone.
