Chris Flemming, who drove the Forester is also the owner of the wide bodied yellow WRX sponsored by COBB that has done pretty well in SM at national events the past couple years. When they could keep dumb SSC magazine people from running it into water trucks for photo shoots.
The Forrester has had the suspension done up, but not the motor yet. So it had to run STU. Its being prepped for the One Lap of America. I told Chris he must be awfully comfortable with his manhood to run that thing...

I would totally run that. it's sooo non-status quo, and i bet it has the potential to do pretty well in STU at Pro's.

man....they're in HS right now! Run it there.
Especially for Pros....since they can't change it mid-year.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't think the Forester XT is in HS. I know there was a Fastrack out earlier this year that specifically put it in ESP, and I'm sure the same issue put the FXT in GS or DS. I can't check right now, but I'm sure if you go to NASIOC, they have a thread on it.
For those of you who didn't make it, the Houston Tour was a blast. Roger Johnson, as usual, designed two sweet courses, and the Saturday night dinner/raffle was great. Lots of prizes to be won (two of the digital pyrometers were won by people at my table), and dog-betting to be had (Eric Hyman won $1000 on a $5 trifecta bet). Someone needs to ask Ian Stewart what a "Shiner" is.
I decided that I'm too much of a domestic owner to drive a Honda
and so when Mason Melkowits offered up his ESP Mustang Cobra on Friday night, I tossed around the idea all evening, and Saturday morning, about 7:50, I went for it instead of Gerry's STS Civic. Oh, it was a bad decision, competition-wise, with Mark Jorgensen and Mark Madarash in the class, and Mason's car not prepped to the max of the rules, but damn it, RWD, horsepower and torque are hard to resist!
The worst decision, though, had to be jumping out of Brian Matteucci's car to begin with. Of course, I think I was lucky to be running within a tenth of him when I codrove that car at the Dallas ProSolo last year, so I don't think I could have destroyed SM with times like his, but even if I was a second off of him per day.... well... hindsight is 20/20, isn't it?
Eric Sutton, it was good meeting you face-to-face! Sorry we didn't touch base earlier in the weekend. Nice driving, too... too bad you couldn't hold on against the Supra onslaught.
