Default Greddy GSR turbo in ITR?

Friend selling new Greddy GSR turbo kit -
I have a 99 JDM ITR

thinking of head gasket and going turbo in the coming months - wanted
to know if anyone has this setup? what they feel about it? any mods needed
to make it work?

if topic covered - forgive me - i did a search but did not find
any specific info.

Thanks!

yes it can be done....you can't use the blue box and I suggest a upgrade to bigger injectors and at least a inline pro head gasket. you will need to modify the charge pipe and downpipe to fit.....if you want call the shop since you are pretty close since we did this kit on my car. the site for the shop is in my profile.

Dude you are a dick, all your coments have the same tone to them. He was asking if there would be a problem putting a Greddy GSR kit on his TypeR. Not asking if anyone in the history of the world has ever put a turbo onto his TypeR. Seems like you could use a vacation from this board as it obviously pisses you off the people that visit.

one thing i don't like is internaly wastegated (less hp and probably spike/creep issues), it would probably work out nicely if you're just looking for mild boost. running too low of compression sucks for daily driving, or just for any driving. - but its supposed to work out for the better - 11:1 is great, yet not much room for error.

first, make sure your car is good enough to handle the abuse or just be ready for rebuild in near future. if your car passes compression/leakdown, no leaks/burning of oil/coolant, then you should be good to go. use arp head studs when replacing headgasket.

I would def throw out the blue box for better ems like Hondata or Aem. I would also upgrade to at least 550 injectors and make sure you get it tuned well. With that you should make pretty moderate hp.

I run 15psi daily on the inline pro head gasket and block guard on mish-mash fuel set up right now with no spiking/creeping or detonation on stock internals.....you have to use ARP studs and get a set of cam gears to zero in the cams after the head gasket. you will love it. I make boost by 1500-2000rpm and full boost by 2700

wow - a lot of good info

I apologize if I asked the wrong question - I got yelled at a few times now on
this ITR fourm...but I try to search and read everything prior to posting - just
didn't find anything that quite answered this question.

the long term abuse to the engine is defiantely a concern since this is my only car.
My friend just had this kit ...and I thought i'd try it.

Shop info definately helps! thanks everyone - and sorry if I offended anyone.

peace out.
