I'd get the B18B if I were choosing, just because they are generally going to have less mileage on them, meaning that they will be in better shape for boosting.

Get whatever has less miles, if you don't know, get a B. Unless it's a big price difference.

b18b has better cams. everythying else is the same. oh and that's a bit much fuel. you can sell the FMU for about $100 and buy an SMC500 from someone on here to control those injectors and you should be fine.

...or you could do what i'm doing and get an A block with a B block. I'm rebuilding both and setting up for a turbo. Plus there a lot less coverting you have to do. If you do get the B18b than get a B18a distributor and ECU because you wont have to rewire provided you have an Si.

Thats my 2 cents

B would be newer but A would be cheaper, I bought 2 b18a longblocks for 400 bucks, one of them ive been boosting for a while and I ran half assed fuel maps on it and it held like a champ, I did a compression check and it was at 210 all across. Just find whatever block has is in the best condition, it all depends on the person who had the motor before and how they took care of it. Either one will hold up fine to boost tho.

yeah i know the b18 b's are cheaper. i might just go with one, and have more money to build a bottom end. as far as my set up would be, i could use some help
my biggest issue is reliability.i had a 95 gsr and i had the t/3 on it. it didnt last very long before i noticed oil consumption. before i had a chance to rebuild it it got stollen. but i still have the t/3 and manifold.
what would be a decent fuel setup? 10 lb boost
