Default upgrade master cylinder w/ disc swap?

did a disc swap on my 89 crx si, just did my 91 dx hatch. it has DA front knuckles and trailing arms, with a 91 crx si prop. valve. in my crx, the DA master cylinder bolted right on, on my dx, the flange is opposite.
i already have a DA master cylinder. should i buy an si booster, or just leave the stock master cylinder in there? thanks!

my first swap was on an si, and the da master went right onto the booster. this swap in on a dx, and i think i need to change the booster, the master's flange is opposite.

The Master cylinder and brake booster from a DA fit on my 88 crx dx and it works great!

I did a rear disk swap on my crx dx and only upgraded the prop valve. Everything else related to brakes is stock. I'll have to see if it's necessary to upgrade anything else once I've started driving it.

your DA MC is the opposite way because it's a ABS one i think.

i thought the opposite flange was because of abs, i got a non abs one, same flange. they must have the same flange unless the parts guy at autozone got the wrong one.

If any money is to be spent, you should ditch the DA MC and just get a 90/91 Civic Sedan EX MC. It's a 13/16 which is the same as the DA one. You won't have to reflare your brake line and it will bolt right onto your stock booster.

i don't see the point of upgrading to the ex one if it is the same size.. use an integra one it is either 15/16 from ls diameter or 1" (i think) from the gs. those are my results from digging in the junk yard.. i'm still not quite sure what proportioning valve to use.. everyone says anyone from an integra would work so i'm guessing anything from a car that has rear disc brakes would be fine... if not.. you can get an aftermarket valve that is fully adjustible, and you'll have to tune it for the proper proportioning... understand???

this problem does not lie in the master cylinder. the only problem is that the flange is opposite on the dx booster, and i am trying to find a master that will bolt to it.

this is correct.
90-93 rs/ls (i.e. any non abs DA) has a 15/16"
90-93 gs (abs equipped) has a 1"
92-93 gsr (abs equipped) has a 1"

I think you misunderstood what I wrote. The EX one is not the same size as the DX one. The EX is 15/16" - just like the Integra one.

The Integra 15/16" MC requires that you cut and reflare the line on your civic AND replace the booster with the Integra one.

The MC from the EX only requires the MC - no line flaring and no booster change.

you should edit your post, cause it says the 4dr dx one is 13/16" he didn't misunderstand, he just read what you wrote.

Thats nice to know that the 4dr ex MC is 15/16's though... makes things a bit easier.
