aftermarket LSD
quife diff goes for about $900. Clutch type diffs go for much less at about $300 but they will wear out over time.
$400 to $800 install cost if you don't do it yourself.

install isn't too easy. it involves taking apart your transmission (after taking it out) and doing a bunch of stuff like pressing out the speedo ring, and testing pre-load on the diff etc, etc.
i think the cheapest/easiest way to do the install is to drop the tranny out yourself if you're mechanically inclined, and taking the tranny itself to a shop for the lsd to be installed. this will save you about 6 hours of labor * labor rates at a shop.
with that in mind, installing a diff is no small thing, so you shouldn't cheap out on your LSD. IMO, quaife and kaaz are the only 2 diffs worth buying for an h22 tranny, and they're both expensive. a quaife can be found for ~800, though you may find deals (i got mine for $600), and a kaaz will cost around 1200 (i think...)
it's a great upgrade though.

How does the stock LSD(M2B4) compare to the Quife or Kaaz. Just wondering because I'm going to do a H22 swap soon, and its only 300$ extra for the JDM LSD. Seems like this would be a lot cheaper than adding an aftermarket LSD.

i'll let you know as soon as installation is finished. the JDM one works really well though.
and for where to get them:
http://www.napsusa.com for the Cusco
Quaife, you can find here on the board from an advertiser.
Kaaz is pretty easy to find too.

The Quaife is the single most important mod I've installed on my car to date. Its a night and day difference.

The difference in the Quaife compared to the others is that the Quaife is gear type. Kaaz, Cusco and Honda are clutch type. The Honda one is just not as robust as the Kaaz and other aftermarket units, but its still a GREAT mod and at $300, you should do it. The Quaife is one of the best options because its gear type doesnt need to be rebuilt, and has a lifetime warranty. Kaaz, Cusco and Honda can wear over time.

Cool, I haven't read mine this month yet.
I think I'll probably have to go that route with the swap, I only plan to do I/H/E. I'm sure the stock one we'll hold up decently.

actually i think the honda LSD is a helical gear type LSD.

I drive the hell out of my Prelude both on and off the track making more than twice the stock horsepower to the wheels... Having that said, I am running phantom grip LSDs... Notice I said LSDs, as in multiples... I swap my LSD every 6 months to a year. I have been running this setup for approx 2 years now, and I have put two in my car. Total price for both? $300.00. That's $150.00 a piece for those of you that are math challenged
I went with the mindset that I would try the Phantom Grip due to price before I went with Quaife. I have driven both, and even though the PG doesn't have the lifespan, I prefer the feel of the Phantom Grip.
These are just my opinions, feel free to agree or disagree

ive had my oem lsd for awhile now. prob bout 2 years worth of driving. the last 5-6k ive been boosted, still holding up great. in 2 weeks we'll see what it thinks of 500+whp.
it stays pos doing a burnout w/bf drags, first and second. it will drag the back tires before it goes peg (which it never has yet)
