Default DIY porting?

My 2 friends both own 2nd gen Mitsu Eclipses, and this weekend, they went out and bought a few carbide burs. They are planning to port parts of their engines. My questions are:

1. Should this be done by someone with NO experience?
2. If it is safe to do, would it benifit my 95 EX to have it done?

1.) well, you gotta start somewhere...if you have ever used a dremel before it's pretty much the same thing...

2.) if you don't have other upgrades done to the valve train you won't see much of a difference...

If you're not comfortable messing with the internals of the engine (I sure as hell am not), go to a junkyard and get something cheap to practice on.

yes....best to grab a junk-yard intake manifold/head to play with before putting your own "under the knife"
