Default Questions for engine swap on a '97 Accord LX sedan

Ok, here's my question.
I'm looking to swap out the engine & tranny on my '97 Accord LX (sedan) w/ manual tranny for a brand new engine & tranny. Here's the only real stipulation.

I'd like it to fit my car without a lot of modification, and I'd like it to be a good base for me to add a turbo to later on.

I know jack about engines and all that jazz, but like many other people out there, "I have a friend..." that does this sort of thing that would help me out.

So, the real questions:
1.) What engine and tranny can I still find brand new that will fit my '97 accord?
2.) What turbo kit should I look for that will easily fit this new engine? Is an intercooler needed?

Thanks a lot for your advice.

brand new = no

if u wanna boost, ur current engien is fine....f22b2 is a very stout engine (non vtec though, vtec was the f22b1 in EX accords)....you might wanna use the MT w/ LSD from a JDM h22 engine, itll bolt right up, and has shorter gears.....to get a NEW engine, itll take TONS of modifications.......ou can always just rebuild ur current one before you boost....

drag kits are very good, and they come w/ FMIC (front mount intercooler)

I'm not entirely sure what this means. Sorry, I'm way way way out of touch in terms of engine mods.

I don't quite grasp the terminology at all.

Ask me something about sterio's though, and I'm on top of the game...
That's my profession. I'm an installer.

Do some searches, it will teach you more than posting... your thread is a variation on the hundred or so threads that newbies post on engine tranny swaps in 5gens.. MT, LSD, tranny terms... be creative. and stick with your F22 if you plan on boosting. Find the best possible tuner you can, and don't go cheap. Good luck, welcome, and try not to get flamed!

Manual Transmission with a Limited Slip Differential.....the H22 is a different engine, availbe in Honda Preludes in the US, and Preludes + Accords in Japan.....
the transmission thats made for the h22 has shorter gears, making for a "sportier" driving experience.......

many people swap in an H22 into their accord, but turboing the h22 is a rough task, and takes alot of money....

go to howstuffworks.com and go into the automotive section to learn about LSD's
