Used car for $3500 - options?
What are some good used cars I could get for around $3000-3500? I need them to be fairly common though, cause otherwise I'm not gonna be able to have my pick and get the nicest example. So don't tell me, a Mazda 323 GTX or a Hachiroku GTS, you can't find good examples of those.
Right now I am just not able to be very imaginative - all I can think of is a Jetta GLI. There are a couple for sale around here for around $3500. 16v, 2.0, power recaros, BBS rims, fuba aerial, power everything. Can you match that for $3500? It has to be a daily driver and reasonably roomy - that's why I can't get a Miata
Any thoughts?

88 CRX Si.
for 3500 you can find one in nice shape if you look carefully, although I've heard of some people paying nearly 5-6K for one; but those are usually 91's with under 50K miles.
I shelled out $2500 cash for mine, and I was a little ripped off. But I was a stupid kid at the time and wanted my CRX asap. I didn't care about the motor or suspension since those were going to be replaced.
At the time the CRX was my only car and I thought it would suck moving from an Accord to a CRX. But it wasn't all that bad. The interior cabin has a suprisingly large amount of room. It's nice not having to always give people rides when you're with a group of folks
And with it being a hatchback, it can really haul lots of junk around if need be.
Well, that's my suggestion.

Darth Vader has a 93 GS-R for sale. IM him about it.
DV- who'll be sad when his Aztec Green rareness is gone
Just got a Gen 1 Integra hatchback for my "Winter Beater". It's also going to serve as my summer go to the mall, go to the movies, go downtown, park-it-anywhere, hit anything car. Actually, it quite comfortable and provides for a stress free drive compared to my R.

EG6, forgive my ignorance, what is that a 92-95 civic?
What about this guys - a plain civic is really boring compared to a GLI. The GLi comes wtih recaros, BBS rims, a fuba antenna, close-ratio gearing, etc. What do you think of the "cool" factor?
If I just wanted daily transportation I would keep my plain jane Jetta. It has zero options, not even power steering or AC
