dirty o2 (oxygen sensor) ? Will it read lean or rich?

Hi,

If the o2 sensor is dirty, (clogged by soot) will it read lean or rich? I am guessing it will read lean even if it is rich, but anyone who knows for sure?

More often than not a bad o2 will read lean.

dude if your o2 is bad i suggest u take it to any honda dealer and ask them about the federal extended warranty on exhaust related problems relating to 94-99 honda cars except pilot...i had my 95 accord ex v6 with cel on fixed for free because of that and replaced purge valve...and it covers anything exhaust related like o2 or cel
