Default inaccurate fuel level guage

What can be the problem of a inaccurate fuel level reading?

Basically, whenever I fill up with a full tank of gas, the needle doesn't go all the way up to the "F" sign. At full tank, my needle is in between the half mark and "F."

it's either the float which is located under the back seat, or the guage itself

Where is the float located exactly? I have a CRX, not a EF Hatch.

If its a crx then its located under the storage compartment that you need a key to open. Remove that and i think there are 3 screws. Them them off and put a new guage sender unit thing in. Bolt it all back up and see if that fixes your problem. (99% of the time it will) if not its your guage cluster.

ummmm ....no

in order to gain access to the sending unit you must DROP the gas tank

inaccuracy in the fuel levels is due to the sending unit

go to http://www.howstuffworks.com and they explain how it works

some people take out the sending unit and clean the area that makes contact with the float sending the signal to ur gauge...sometimes just sanding that area and cleaning up the connection fixes the problem.

if not ull need a new sending unit
