Opinion for a good exhaust on a 91 Si hatch.
What's a good lightweight exhaust for a 91 Si hatch? I'm not too concerned about all SS since this isn't a daily driver.
Since this is my first EF, I'm not too sure who makes decent exhausts for those model years.

I have a Greddy exhaust on my 89 Civic Si and absolutely love it. The exhaust note is not very noticeable until WOT. But Greddy is a top-dollar exhaust. $475~500 is a good deal on a Greddy.
Wow, those Greddy's are expensive!! Is that stainless? I know you don't care about SS, but the Thermal is my favorite exhaust...and about $150 cheaper than a Greddy. Let me know if you'd like a price...I can get a decent one.
I have a thermal exhaust and it is really nice. Louder than greddy, but it is full stainless and cheaper than the greddy system. It has a single tip on it. You might be able to get one custom made with dual tips though.
since you want lightweight..you should look into the HKS Titanium Hiper and maybe get custom piping done. That's just my opinion.

i've got the GReddy SP... i love it.
super mellow sound, yet still pretty noticeable.
not a fan of the tip but thats just me.. sound wise it tops both 5Zigen catbacks i've had (fireball and Border3)

Hey Todd...
what?? you're going to put an exhaust on your new civic? no straight pipe like the ITR? I have been satisfied with the DC sports on my CRX, but since it is stainless, it is fairly heavy. I'm not sure if there are any aftermarket LW units. when I installed it, I did notice an improvement from 5,ooo rpm and up. the sound isn't inconspicous on the street though... you do need to watch for clearance, my DC exhaust does rub on the suspension techiquies rear bar. I've heard that is a common problem. I'm not sure if Jason's car has the same problem. Mine rattles a little around idle and below 15oo rpm. are you going to the event at OSU on sunday?

LOL, it's Fred! What's up? Yeah, exhaust for the street, but it is getting unbolted for all autox events.
And yeah, I'll be there this Sunday with my 93 in STS with new suspension (R is retired for the seaon). That exhaust will get unbolted too, so it should be loud. I may just go the custom route with the 91 Si because it would be cheaper and I won't need to use all of the heavy resonators and I can use the lightweight aluminized piping since it isn't a winter car. I'm thinking a dynomax ultraflo for the muffler.
$500 is a lot for the Apexi WS. Anyone know of a cheap place to get that unit?
