There was a really bad storm in the Western NC area last night (I'm at school here). Lots of trees down and ****. I called the Tail of the dragon number from the website, asked the dude if the Gap was drivable. here's what he said: "lots of trees down, stuff in the road. usually gets cleaned off by traffic after about 4-5 hours. Just make sure you make 2 or 3 runs to check it out before you get hot."

So you boys should be straight, just giving ya'll a heads up

there are less than 8-9 short areas where you can speed.

 

Why just some areas.. I guess I just don't understand, why will they let people tear *** on a public road?

 

The cops can't catch you very well. There is a pic of a cop car off the side of the road somewhere....

Have you followed the links yet to see this road? 318 turns in 11 miles.

During last year's run, I hit third gear twice. Posted speed limit is 40mph. I was able to get above that on three very short sections, I believe.

 

What Jack meant is that if you speed in other areas, you're likely to either slam into the side of the mountains, or fly off a cliff
