my friend said he pulled these out of an ITR motor. but im not sure if they are really ITR cams or not.

get a picture of the cam lobe profile....

 

 

i hate to be a pain in the *** but i need to see the vtec lobe compared to the primary and secondary lobe on the intake cam shaft...

if you have regular cams to compare them to it is night and day difference when looking at the itr cams compared to regular cams.

 

Those aren't ITR cams my friend....I have a set right now and looking at them they aren't the same. look at the ends some have one big lip and some have two....look up at the pics of the older type r cams and the ctr cam then lastly the 00-01 itr cam.....i have 00-01 itr cams and they look just like the ones in the pic above.

You really need to look at the lobes to be sure...

dont be so quick to judge, that picture is often used but is not the bible to ITR/CTR cams

 

those look like my GSR cams.

 

Ok maybe I might be a bit quick to judge, but I am looking at my 00-01 itr cams and the ones in question aren't 00-01 itr cams. Maybe they are from a older model year.... maybe this will help to find an answer...

I think that picture is a good reference guide, but i bought ITR cams that looked similar to the ones in the picture.

I know they were ITR cams by one, looking at the lobes and by doing a before and after dyno run.

 

i believe they are gsr's..being that itr's have 2 protruder rings..and that has 3..

you sure they weren't 97-99 ITR cams?

they were 97 spec JDM itr cams...

but regardless that picture by katman does not reference the cams I had

Im not saying it isnt a good guide, im just saying i know from personal experiance that there are 3 rings like GSR cams on some ITR cams from my experiance.

 

i will try to post pictures of the lobes for u but i dunno which one is the vtec lobe and which ones are the primary etc.

what pics will i need to take for u to identify them?

 

I had the same set of cams, and measure them. They are GSR cams.

yup like he said, i have a set of b17 cams right here, same as the pics

 

there was a set sitting at RLZ for about 3 weeks...we couldnt EVER find out what they were....and then we found some pics of b17a cams...same thign

 

 

the simple way is just to look at the lobes

becomes very obvious what the cams are

esp when side by side to another non ITR cam

dont just assume from a not very clear picture
