Seccondaries not engaging? (Vtec not working)
I know there is something wrong with my car but I have no idea. I was dicking around under the hood and trying to make some progress.
I was listening to the top of my Intake Manifold and I can hear what sounds to be a vaccuum leak from underneath it. I couldn't find any lines that were lose or had holes in it.
You might be thinking that it is comming from the black box, but I doubt it. My black box is not located underneath the IM, it is on top just chilling there(yea, I need to relocate it, but I need a lift/to go home for summer break), so I know none of those lines are leaking.
I was following some of the vaccuum lines, specifically the one that goes to the diaphram (I think that is the seccondaries, right?) and unplugged it. I raised the r's up to 5500 and no suction or pressure. Then I put my finger over the line still connected to the diaphram and moved the thing that looks like the seccondaries flap that opens and closes(mini throttle cable spring thing that is a replica of what moves when you hit the accelerator) and got it to stay open. Point of this paragraph is that there is no vaccum to control the seccondaries, otherwise they should work fine.
Why don't I have vaccuum? Sometimes Vtec works, mostly when I first warm up it will engage a couple of times, and other times it doesn't, especially when the car has been driven for a little while. I just cleaned out my Vtec seleniod so that couldn't be a problem. Not sure why Vtec works sometimes, and not all
I was also trying to adjust my fpr and I couldn't get anywhere. My fuel gauge says a steady 43/44 PSI throughout all rpm and I can't lower it at all-maybe vaccuum related as well?
I am real sick of this not working properly and I'm running out of ideas. PLEASE help me guys...
Cliffs cause this might be too long to read:
Possible vaccuum leak from underneath IM, any ideas?
Seccondaries not working- no vaccuum- why?
Cleaned vtec selenoid recently
Why does Vtec only work intermittently, and only right away when is is barely warm?
Can't adjust FPR, stays steady at 44 no matter the rpm...
Sorry for the slang and the use of the word "Thing", as I am not very educated in the names of **** under the hood
