Type R sway bar in GSR......any one know of any lower arm (tie) bars that would fit??
Hi guys, i used to have a lower tie bar and last night when i put a type r sway bar in my car, i had to remove the lower tie bar to make clearance for the new sway bar bracket......can anyone who has a type r sway bar AND a lower arm bar tell me what brand lower tie bar fits with the type R sway bar? thanks in advance
I believe the Comptech one will fit since it bolts on from underneath. The only drawback is the price as it retails for like $150-160.
you can use the neuspeed, but you'll have to use a longer bolts than the ones that come with the neuspeed...about an inch longer, you'll also need a 1/5" spacer as well...
it'll work..
it'll work..
Benen bar will fit.

I agree that the Comptech tie bar wil fit and is the best out there! I have both Comptech/ITR Sway and Tie bars. See Compthch here:

94integrals, that is the Type-R Sway with a Comptech tie bar? looks sweet! what are your other suspension modifications? how is the handling?
i think i'm going to go with this setup as well. Comptech's tie bar is the only one that looks good IMO and a tie bar is more an aesthetic mod than anything.

Thanks alot for your input guys, i'm either gonna go with the comptech or the FEEL'S JDM lower tie bar.....they both bolt on in the same manner, except the feel's is much more beefier haha....thanks again
How is that tie bar attach to the chassis? It looks like you have to drill four holes into the frame...I've been looking for a tie bar that would fit ever since I had to take off the old one.

To mount the Comptech tie bar, you drill 4 holes on each side...although you could really get away with doing only 2 per side. I drilled 2/side and then put in the others when I installed the shocks.
The Comptech is likely one of the strongest bars as well...it's billet aluminum and is VERY LIGHT...it weighs literally OUNCES!
To see how it mounts from a different view, see my site.

Benen bar went on without any drilling.....just unbolt LCA bolts, put bar in place...put bolts back in....
