greenish white flaky hard stuff is in the coolant passages of block? what is it?
my friend has a block he got cheap and in all teh coolant passages it has hard white stuff built up// alot.. what is this and what does it mean? also how can it be cleaned out?
If its green then its very possible that it is as spaceman said and just dried out coolant, just flush the whole head with hot water and detergent to get rid of it and it should be good to go!
it's called mineral deposit. that's what happen when you use plain old tap water and not the recommended distill water. all that build up eventually causes blockages in the coolant passages which will possiblity cause overheating or in extereme cases: blown headgasket or warped cylinder head.
