im planning on turboing my car this summer. the main reason is that it is much cheaper to get to my power goal this way. i will end up spending maybe around 3000-3500 hopefully when i am done and should have a reliable 275-300 hp.

I've gone both routes. Money on both is needed of course. Turbo is tons cheaper for far more horsepower.

Im going to post up a in detailed post about the comparisons of my all motor setup to my turbo setup once its on the road in a few weeks.

I can't wait

Turbo is more fun.

N/A is for the pussies that are scared to blow up motors.

Bullshit. My N/A car is much more fun than either of the turbo cars I have owned (rather it was until we put the CX engine in it), and back when I drove a N/A EG, the blowing up of a motor was ritualistically performed about once every two months.

Kendall

What boosted cars did you own? Hondas? or other cars? Setup? Just Curious I've never met anyone boosted owners who have went from boost to all motor(honda guys). Usually it's the other way around.

Although im a boosted guy and will never go back, Ive contemplated maybe building a badass little road race all motor machine on the side of my boosted project, but well see. Honestly I'd like to build a boosted road race machine, but I would need to see if it could be done, oil cooling, temps I doubt it would be much sucess, but Austrian Type R gives his boosted ITR alot of action at the tracks.

I just think it would be nice to learn and experience another form of honda racing. Im open to anything, just comes down to $$$

Depends on what you define as fun. A properly built motor and maintainted N/A or FI should not be blowing up.

I had a VF-34 equipped WRX that layed 306 horses to the ground, and I had a Porsche 951. Though I've never owned a turbo Honda, I've spent a good bit of time behind the wheel of several of them, including having to borrow one for a month due to my car being in the shop from a hit and run accident, it was a turbo GSR. I have a good bit of time behind the wheel of a few turbo LS setups and a handful of turbo D series setups. I'm actually in the process of building a turbo minime to run in my car until my K20 gets here. Turbo just doesn't offer the level of response that an all motor car gives. And that lack of response shows during hard driving on road courses and many mountain roads.

If your interested in anything other than straight line, NA might be more fun. You are correct there.

I agree. Turbo is cheaper and yields more power, but N/A is just so damn fun. It also depends on how much power you want to make. 200whp and below, N/A would be fairly easy to achieve, and be lots of fun.

Good deal,

It comes down to the person and what kind of racing they are doing. I am a highway racer, My goal is to run with Z06's, ls1's, supras ect... so I have to go a sererate route. I've noticed it also depends on where you live. Roadracing Autox is just not big in Texas, everyone here is strictly about power and Highway.

This is the great thing about honda, the aftermarket is great so you can build a great honda to handle the style of racing/driving you like

Apparently you haven't seen Motorsports Ranch or the amount of "clubs" that hold autox events around here, have you Iggy?

Turbo, so you can run with the big boys... and c'mon people, a properly sized turbo setup can handle far more than just straight line acceleration, I'm tired of hearing that ignorance

i wouldn't say that all you will be spending. Either FI or NA, both are going to cost a lot to get reliable HP.
