New 1/8th mile times since tune
Not sure Where to post this, move it if you like mods.
Anyways I made a few runs earlier at a local 1/8th mile track.
It's not by any means good set-up, it's run on the front stretch of a 5/8th oval so rite after you pass the finish line you have to slow down and turn otherwise you end up in the dirt.
Anyways I was very intimidated when I forst got there being that I was in domestic country and there were only a few imports. Most of the cars were built/blown camaro's, nova's, trucks....all sorts..
They made me feel welcome after I made a few runs
which Isn't as common at out 1/4 mile track...
Well to the times..This is my first time running 1/8th mile (it's over too fast).
My first few were between 7.7-7.8 seconds with my best being 7.56
I only lost to one car due to my car not wanting to go into second (still ran a 8.3).
It's a low-budget set-up there so no 60' times or speeds yet they are getting money together for that.
So whatcha think?
I'm happy with my 7.5, not sure how that relates to my soon to be new 1/4 mile time and speed I can hardly wait to run a full 1/4 mile.

I don't know if those times are accurate of not seeing that they don't provide mph and 60ft times and the setup of the track. Any other tracks nearby you could run and see if they are the same? Also what tires were you on?
BFG drag radials.
After looking around a little I'm starting to think the same thing.
There Is a 1/4 mile track that I will be running at thats accurate.

if your running that time on BFG, your doing damn good IMO, a 7.5 is low 12's possibly if the car pulls good up top a high 11's. Try and get your hands on some good size slicks and you'll be in the mid to low 11's with out a dought. good run and best of all good driving especially on only 248HP.
Hope that shows some out here you dont need 400+ HP to run good.

Thanks, I'm still undecided on how accurate the time is.
Seeing the cars that I was running against I have no problem believing the time, I have no doubt that they are low 12 second cars (without a doubt) Even the slightly modified v-8's were cake walk, Either they couldn't drive or My car is running strong.I'm a poor judge of my own speed, everybody tells me i'm faster then I believe. Several people came up commenting on how fast my car was (domestic owners)
Anyways the car is stripped down to nothing, I even removed the rear bumper support, everything down to the sound deadening materal. Only the drivers seat and me (170lbs) were left..
I'm going down to pacific raceways soon to verify the accuracy of my runs, I know I can trust the slips that I get there, plus it's a full 1/4 mile.

If it were on slicks I could believe it but with DR's it's hard to get a low 1/8th mile time especially that low is the only reason I would question the times. I'm sure you could get that though, i'm running 7.8's on slicks with almost the same setup.

Yeah, that was the first time for me making a run with actual traction
.
It seemed to hook up really good IMO.
I'm not sure what to think, I mean nobody else there questioned the times and there were a lot of regular's running. I guess i'll have to live with a little doubt in my mind until I make it out to a better track next month.
