Default Crate Motor?

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but oh well. A kid I know says he has a b18c crate motor in his honda. Was wondering what exactly does that mean. Does it have to have certain kinds of internals or something? Or are they more expensive type-r motors that honda produced?

I'm almost positive that it's simply a motor already built/put together and sold as one piece one a wooden crate.

It's a fully assembled longblock.

There are a few companies that sell them: Mr. Gasket, Importbuilders, Spoon, Jun, etc.
