Default Picking up a 97 ITR. To do list??

I will purchasing my first, and hopefully last, ITR next Saturday and I need some up coming up with a "to do list." It will be a daily driver (maybe a little auto-x) and currently has a Comptech intake, Comptech race header, 2.5" test pipe, and a Thermal 2.5" cat system. I will have approximately a grand to spend after purchasing it. Here's the list so far:

Learn limits of car (most important to me)
195/55 Yokohama ES100 (some grip for a bargain)
Kill Switches and a possible GPS Alarm (not sure on brand or model?)
Skunk2 Stage 1 Cam Gears and VAFC II (smooth out powerband and create a little more hp)
Dyno Tuning by P1
Maybe some brake upgrades (help me out on this one)

Is there anything else you guys can think of for me to do such as maintenance wise or beneficial modifications? Thanks in advance.

PS: Also, if anyone knows the best place to purchase the Skunk2 and VAFC, I would greatly appreciate it.

mileage? condition? otherwise, it would be hard to recommend maintenance jobs.

Unless you plan on either tracking the car or excessive canyon carving, then a brake upgrade isn't really necessary.

Sorry about that. Has 90K miles, never driven in the winter, Mobil 1 synthetic, 2nd owner, and in immaculate condition. How long does a stock clutch usually last if not abused?

I forgot to add Helms manual.

Well, if it's still a stock one, it could go anytime... but, I guess you should be able to tell that by feeling the clutch.

Has the timing belt been changed (w/ other belts)? Synchro's ok? Also, suspension bushing could be fatigued by now. Check over shocks & springs for sagging or blow.

Then, the usual maintenance stuff.. distributor, spark plugs, wires, all the fluids, alignment, lubing hinges... everything should be described in detail in Helms.

compression test, if it hasn't been done, plan on changing the timing belt/ water pump. stock brakes are pretty good off the bat, don't worry about those
drive the car as it is for a while till you get a feel for what you think needs improvement.

Thanks everyone for your help. Timing belt has been changed recently, but not water pump. I will probably purchase a compression test kit from Advance Auto Parts.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to change the waterpump if the timing belt has already been done. Just did both on my 97 and I could have spent the $110 for the OEM water pump better elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. I will have layered security but I'm still unsure on which alarm system to purchase? Anyone? Also, is IL4 the best place to purchase the Skunk2 cam gears and VAFC II? Thanks.

is that skunk 2 stage one cams or gears.. I have never heard of stage 1 cam gears.... if its the cams... don't bother.. but if its the gears... go for it.

you can find much better deals on cam gears in the classifieds or other local shops... IM tweakmeister and get some cam gears.. ST Corsa

I just recently picked up a 1997 ITR myself too with 58k. All I did first is do the required 60k which is pretty much change all the fluids and what not. I went ahead change the break pads and rotors and brakelines.
Since the car was on the rack, I odered a set of coilovers and let it sit a little lower. ( ITR was stock when I bought it).
