Default Paint/Bodymen...Please take a look at these pics of my $1K beast.

So this is my $1,000 beast. All good except for the section with detailed pictures.

I already replaced the door, and this is all that's left. There's no bondo there, the previous owner just painted over it to keep the rust away.

Nothing underneath the car is bent, or even slightly tweaked. Not even the rocker panel is messed up. Just this one freakin spot! I honestly don't know what happened. The door shuts fine and everything...just looks terrible.

Now my question(s)... What's the best way to go about fixing this? What would I be looking at (rough guestimate) to have this properly repaired?

Any info/help will be greatly appreciated

Pic of the beast. '91 DX, Ice cold A/C....140K on the odometer. I've got a complete cruise control system ripped out and ready to install as well as power mirrors. Waiting for a good day to install is power windows/doorlocks, '90 EX knuckles/00 Si calipers, and '98 Integra rear discs and a JDM front end

First Integra seat in....haven't gotten around to doing the Driver seat yet.

With the exception of the one spot, the car is very clean

To perfect that you will need cut and replace.
That is way to distorted to perfect it and I would never use body filler in such a impact area(door closing)

Thank you for the reply.

I can source that entire section at a junkyard pretty easily and really cheap. How far back, underneath, across etc should I get the piece?

I would talk to whoever you are going to have weld it in cause everybody looks at how to do things differently and if you ask him what is easy for him and were he wants to cut and weld you will probly get a better deal.

That's true about the damage. At the very least it will make an excellent daily driver/beater since it's so comfy inside and has a/c etc

Maybe I can find a 5speed LX or EX in the summer and I won't have to swap over all the power stuff I want.

Holy Crap! Euro - Tech radials.... where did you find those rare awesome tires?

They offer far more grip than my NOKIA NRH performance radials on my CRX

u don't really have to cut and weld

just get someone who can pull that out as much as they can and work with it

as we have done a bit for some far worse vehicle then ur's

and then use a lil filler (not bondo!)

with welding another piece u will need to use filler also, so instead of going through the pain of gettting it weld and all

but again this is ur call bro
just trying to help u out on spending money on a beautiful 4G4D u got

welcome to the club
