Default OT: Picking up another beater this weekend. At least my R isn't lonely anymore..

I've been on a car buying spree lately. Good job (for a 20 year old in college) + no girl friend + bored = bling rides yo!

I'm picking up an EG hatch from a friend this weekend. It will compliment the ITR and my 91 Si (along with my 3000GT and 1990 DX hatch parts cars). My home will now officially look like a junk yard

Here it is in all of its honey snatchin glory...

After studying it closely this EG seems to be messed up. It's apparently rigged with some retarded over sized radiator....

The dark side and extra money own me

13 inch stock wheels and tires + 250whp = low 14's at 110.9mph

I haven't driven it at the track myself, but thats my friends best on street tires. It's trap speed doesn't do it justice though. It pulled an LS1 that was trapping 114.3mph from a 50mph roll so its pretty quick. It'll be fun to slap some forged internals in it and shoot for more power.

Here is the complete setup:

95 B18b
Maxrev manifold
Maxrev downpipe
Tial 38mm wastegate
T3/T04e- 60 trim, .63a/r
Custom Piping
Johnnyracecar.com 6" IC
DSM BOV
DSM 450cc injectors that have been cleaned and balanced
Flamenco T oil feed/return kit
NGK BKR7e-11's gapped at .32
Hondata S200b tuned
Autometer oil pressure and boost guages inside. Its a 3 guage pillar pod, so the new owner can put whatever he/she wants to in there.
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Turbo XS HP manual boost controller

I plan on running around like it is for a little bit and then building the internals along with a few other goodies.

A dual stage boost controller and some wider rims and tires for traction purposes is on the top of the list.

I don't know if you'll ever get any traction with all that suspension slop, looks cool all sleepery and whatnot, but it doesn't do **** for weight transfer.

Sounds like second/last ever run in my turbo ITR (with the hatch full of stuff from an aborted cross country trip).

I'm already looking into that. The first thing I want to do is get some better rubber on the thing. Some rota's or any similar cheap 15" wheel with some Azenis should help out tremendously over the stock wheel and tire combo.

I've been thinking about a nice cost effective suspension setup for it, but I could possibly buy a nice coilover setup for the R and just slap the R's old suspension on the EG. The only problem is I still have a lot to learn on the R's stock suspension and am not ready to throw cash at it instead of just improving driver skill.

For the dual stage boost control all I'm going to do is run a bypass line around the current MBC. Along that bypass line I'll install a 12v soleniod. When the solenoid is open the car will just run of the wastegate spring, which is 6lbs and 198whp (what the car was first tuned for). Once I get into third gear I'll flip the switch, close the selnoid, and the car will run off the 10lb setting of the MBC. (Thank rioninja for the idea)

I picked the car up today. OMG it's sick.

Within the first hour of driving the car a WS6 LS1 tried to pick a fight with my ITR (my friend was driving it behind me after we picked up the hatch), he motioned for it to go try and get a piece of the little stupid looking hatch ahead of it. The TA rolled up to me and I gave him the single to hit it first. They both looked at me like I was crazy and the passenger laughed as he nodded to his friend. The TA tried to take off but of course I couldn't let that happen. 2 gears later I was 4-5 cars ahead (it was a ton), I quickly let off and they did a flyby. I pulled up beside them and threw a thumbs up. They never looked over lol.

I then went up against my own ITR from a 10mph roll. It freaking beat the crap out of me lol. 250whp + 175 wide 13 inch tires = super ITR putting the hurt down, well that is until about 100mph when I sucked it up like a tricycle. It was a happy and sad moment at the same time.

< is liking this car alot, but for completely different reasons than the R.
