Yeah, every time I stretch the upper return spring on the piston in the wheel cylinder wants to pop out.

is the shoe sitting in the groove of piston? do you have the shoes secured with the spring clips? how are you streching the spring in place?

Yes I have it secured but it still moves, I am using vice grips to stretch it.

use a long thin flat head screwdriver ,loop/hook it on the end of the spring and put the tip of the screwdriver where you want the spring to go and then push out sliding the spring end into the shoe. sorry it's hard to describe

I understand that, the vice grips actually work better. When your pulling the spring, the shows have a tendency to move pushing the one piston in. I am just gonna use c clamps.
