97 Accord transmission BOYA vs AOYA Auto
Hi Everyone,
I am in a quandary with my 97 accord SE. It has 140,000 miles on it and the slush box just bit the dirt. In my searching it appears that I can use a trany out of a 95 – 97 accord w 2.2L motor. This is all fine and dandy…but!
It appears that there were a couple of different transmissions used on this vehicle. They are identified by a four-letter code on a sticker on the front of the transmission.
My transmission is a BOYA
I am finding several AOYA transmissions.
So the question is…are these transmissions interchangeable? What is different between the two?
Thanks for replys in advance.\
Cheers,
Rufus

i'm not sure what codes those trannies goes with, but all h and f series trannies are interchangable. i have a 96 accord lx (same tranny as you) but mine bit the dust and i picked up a h23a tranny. gear ratio is a lot better of course the h22a tranny is the best. just remember, if you go with a h series tranny, you have to get the h series flex plate and torque converter.
