Oddball question: NASCAR electrical switches
I'm trying to fabricate and insatall a switch panel in my car and discovered the desired placement (near the center dash vents) is just out of reach when I'm belted in...
Insted of suggestions to move the panel closer, I'm looking for information on the "long" toggle switches you see in some stock cars. Are those custom made or is it some kind of a drilled dowel peice stuck over a normal toggle switch?
Here's the only picture I could find... (look near the A pillar...the white long thingy)

Check with firms like Longacre and BSR in Charlotte. The switch is available with a longer than normal handle from various places including them and Allied Electronics and Digi-Key. We use various switches and some even come from Summit (they sell Painless). Make sure it is a high quality sealed type-just much more rugged. I might note you can find these on http://www.eem.com's website (master catalogs) too.
